Sweep mines from hexagon-shaped cells
If you're a fan of Microsoft's Minesweeper game, you'll probably enjoy Hex Mines as well. Just like the MS game, Hex Mines is a contest of luck and strategy. By default, it uses hexagons instead of squares (although there is an option for squares). The premise is the same: You're presented with a mine field, and your mission is to locate and mark all of the mines in the field. To accomplish this, you uncover the cells that don't contain mines, and you mark the cells that do. Besides the fact that you get hexagons, why bother with Hex Mines when you can play Minesweeper for free? Well, Hex Mines offers digital sound effects, a slightly bigger playing area, and the ability to customize the background color and texture. A 32-bit version is also available.
